Catherine Ford is a British actress who was born in Bloomsbury. Following the time her father's departure from her family, she was raised up by her mother grandparents, and godparents. Ford suffered from anxiety disorder that was rooted in word associations as a young toddler. Ford's passion for acting started as a child. She joined the National Youth Theatre. After being accepted into the Sylvia Young Theatre School for only a few days, Ford decided that it wasn't the ideal venue for her. Ford made an application to the Central School of Speech and Drama and eventually secured an interview on her fourth try. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler on Doctor Who. Ford's first appearance on television was an episode in 1991 called Surgical Spirit. By the moment she was done with school, Ford already went by "Catherine Tate". In the Nineties, Tate could be seen on television in programmes including The Bill, Men Behaving Badly and London's Burning. Apart from her regular theatre work, Tate joined in the Royal Shakespeare Company in 2000-2001. Tate gained recognition for her comedy stand-up that was added to her repertoire in 1996.
